MEET THE NRPR #DREAMTEAM: DIEDRE JOHNSON

 

Another month, another installment of our “Meet the NRPR #DREAMTEAM” series on the blog! Today, we’re introducing you to Diedre Johnson, NRPR Group’s amazing In-House Editor! We’re very lucky to have Diedre on our team, and we can’t wait for you to get to know her better.

Diedre Johnson: In-House Editor

Diedre Johnson is the in-house editor at NRPR Group. She loves playing with words and helping the team get out concise, engaging press material and is finding her work here to be hugely rewarding.

Diedre is a Central Texas native who moved to Huntington Beach, California while in high school/ She earned her degree in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach.

She worked a staff reporter at the Daily Commerce, one of the newspapers under the Daily Journal Corporation, partially owned by Charles T. Munger, VP of Berkshire Hathaway. Diedre was also a staff writer at Star Magazine and later returned to be their freelance red carpet reporter. The New York Daily News, Japanese Vogue and Variety are some of the other publications she has written for. She currently covers fashion and celebrities for Vogue Italy online.

When not working, Diedre likes to find great places to eat in LA, read everything she can get her hands on, visit thrift shops, binge watch old movies and new TV shows, and go for long walks.

How do you take your coffee? With cream

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Patient, tenacious, funny (well, sometimes … )

What’s your favorite part about working at NRPR Group? Truly, everyone is positive and helpful. That makes what I do easier.

When you’re not editing pitches, what can we find you doing?  Binge-watching all the great new TV shows, contributing to Vogue, Italy online or walking.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone hoping to start an editorial career?

Decide you really want this, be in it for the long haul and find a mentor if you can.
