Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, yeah, Chilli of TLC and hits Waterfalls, No Scrubs and Creep. Hard to believe but this year is the Grammy-winning group’s 20th in the music business. TLC’s remaining members Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins are doing a series of concerts later this year to commemorate. Renewal of Thomas’ reality show, What Chilli Wants, was undetermined at press time.

I got a few quick minutes with Chilli at the SoftSheen-Carson Roots charity event benefiting South Central LA at-risk youths. With her fans out in mass, the petite entertainer looked chic in white pants and sexy beige top.

You have fine hair. What’s the most difficult thing about it to maintain?
CT: Probably the only thing is that it’s good to find a product that keeps the frizz down and whatever you use, be sure your hair has a lot of moisture. Your hair needs to be hydrated.

What’s on your style wish list this season?
CT: I’m addicted to Seven jeans but I love the jeggings. I love them because they are so thin and they’re not skinny jeans. I don’t like skinny jeans on anybody (laughs)!

What’s your style philosophy?
CT: Well, I’d say that whatever the latest style is doesn’t’ mean it’s for you. You have to get clothes that fit your body type and as long as you’re comfortable and you know you are looking good, the confidence comes through. People see that and that’s what’s beautiful.

What was your first style splurge after you made it in showbiz?
CT: For us, it was the bigger the jeans the better because we were sagging, sagging, sagging when we first came out.

What’s the wackiest thing you’ve done for fashion/beauty?
CT: The wackiest thing was probably some of hats we used to wear.

What’s happening with TLC?
CT: Well, I’ve been busy with the series and T-Boz is doing a play and this is our 20th anniversary so we are working on doing some fun stuff.

So you two are still doing it?
CT: We would never stop doing music. We tour and we perform, not all the time but sometimes. I would like to perform a lot more but hopefully we will do a lot more of that this year because of the 20th anniversary.
